The Aurora City Council will consider two candidates for the vacancy within its ranks when it meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at city hall.
The applicants for appointment to city council are Laurie Boyce and Kris Sallee.
Boyce, a resident of the Aurora area, since 1984, served as city recorder from 2003 until resigning in November 2009. She ran unsuccessfully for a council seat in November 2010.
Sallee served on the 2014 city budgeting committee and is vice chairman of the city planning commission through 2014. She works as administrative assistant to the vice president of Cambia Health Solutions.
The vacancy was created when Council President Bill Graupp was selected mayor after the resignation of the previous mayor Gregory M. Taylor.
The current council members are Jason Sahlin, Rick Vleck and Scott Brotherton.
